As I sit here with the fire on, sipping my lovely Christmas blend from Fortunm and Mason (what else?), I realise how fast this month is going! and still so much to do! Do you feel overwhelmed by the “missing” aspect of the holiday season? that feeling of everything happening so fast, and the huge “to do list” that keeps you from actually truly enjoying this season?

There are so many things I want to experience this year, we have tickets for the Nutcracker, an invitation to listen to Christmas carols at my husband’s former University, my Great Gatsby company’s party, and can I please have just one day to do nothing else than enjoy the Christmas decorations around Covent Garden?! While sipping mulled wine, is that a thing here?

Instead I am here filling in forms, and then more forms for our Mortgage application and trying to put together millions of documents so things can be ready when they are needed.

I remember reading something online saying that buying a property in the UK was in the list of the most stressful things, and me (naively), remember thinking at the time, how can that be stressful? it’s the most exciting thing in adult life, now after a year of dealing with paperwork, house hunting, 2 failures purchases, yes I can officially, 100% agree to that statistic, buying a house in the United Kingdom is one of the biggest causes of stress.

Anyways, if you guys are interested in that whole story, I can write an article of all the things we have learnt from that, for now I have found this article by Jess Anne Kirby which is very helpful.

Coming back to the holidays, sometimes I feel overwhelmed by only the red and shiny options. I wore this dress to a wedding and I never received so many compliments. I will totally reuse it at least for one of my holiday parties this year, as you can always accessorise it with sparkling jewellery, nice fur and make it festive.

I hope you can take some time to really take in the holiday season and enjoy this lovely time of the year with your love ones. Happy holiday season. xx
