Our Civil Ceremony

Wedding on a yacht

Good morning and happy Monday girls! I don’t even know where to start with this post (add deep breath here), so many vivid emotions came to my mind seeing all of these photos of our civil ceremony. The 21st of April 2018 is a date that will be in our hearts forever and Gibraltar, a place we’ll always remember with love.

Our civil ceremony was held on Saturday at 1 pm at the Sunborn Yacht Hotel the most stunning venue in Gibraltar’s marina with the majestic view of the Mediterranean ocean upon us. It was a very intimate and close reunion just with Andrew’s closest family and my closest family via video conference as they were away but we still desperately wanted them to be part of our civil ceremony and share our special day.

The place itself made our day much more special than it already was, the marvelous salons and fantastic service from the people of the Sunborn, ensured we could really enjoy our ceremony knowing that everything else was taking care of.

We had a lovely lunch after the ceremony at la Sala (also inside the yacht) and our guests still talk about how great the food and champagne was, the cake had a fame of it’s own, plus it was very nice that the waiters and waitresses also spoke Spanish, as we have members of our family that only speak that language. We are so glad we decided to have our ceremony here, we could not imagine a better place in Gibraltar.

If you are thinking of a destination wedding or the idea of getting married on the Mediterranean appeals to you,  I invite you to review the Wedding Special that the hotel Sunborn offers; as well you can contact them for any questions you might have. You can always ask me if you need more details about our time there, I will be happy to chat.

I thought this post would be more fun if I could do a little Q&A about us, I also asked babe to do it with me. Of course, you can notice how we girls can go on and on answering questions, and guys like their one word answers and that is all they say, haha. Anyways:

If you could sum up your relationship in one word what would it be?

Sardis: Unpredictable  (in the best way)

Andrew: Travel!!

What was the best marriage advice you have received so far?

Sardis: Never have a TV on in the bedroom, my grandmother used to say…

Andrew: Remember she is always right, even when she isn’t.

Our Favorite Things About Each Other :

Sardis: I love his kindness, he is very understanding and easy going.  He separates very well when it’s time to work and be responsible and when it’s time to have fun. (He takes the time to have fun and enjoying life)

I love the way he treats people, Andrew speaks to everyone with respect and he is so attentive and nice, I am surprised I am the one with the blog, he should be the one people follow.

Andrew: Sardis is the most affectionate person I’ve ever met and she is always happy to show it.

Sardis’s favorite moments:

A night in Barcelona when we payed way too much money for a place that was not even near as good as the photos on the website, and we were tired as we arrived late and the room was uncomfortable and we didn’t like it.  We were talking about all the bad things about it, and suddenly a dog barks and Andrew is like: “Great! and they also have a dog!” and starts laughing out loud and then I start laughing out loud, it was great!

The night Andrew asked me to be his girlfriend, we were walking by to my place after seating at the same table in the same bar where we met the first time, and we were crossing a bridge in Prague, that night was a full moon that reflected in the water and it was like a romantic scene in a movie, the most perfect night I have ever experienced, like that feeling that all the stars are there just for you two. There was not many people around and when he asked I said: Do you like me to the moon and back and he said: all the way, then I said: yes! he stills uses that quote all the time to say: I love you to the moon and back.

That night when I called our realtor saying that we wanted the flat, and she called us back in five minutes saying that the flat was ours, Andrew and I were so excited, we were in a restaurant in Old Town and we toasted to our future together. It was great!

I can go on and on with these one.

Andrew’s favorite moments: When she said “yes” to me.

I hope you guys enjoy the photos, I have added some of the products Andrew wore that day, his Ted Baker suit was perfect and he looked so handsome waiting for me, I will never forget that first moment we saw each other. A link to my wedding dress, as well as details of all the wonderful people involved in our unforgettable day.

Thank you for reading. xoxo
